Powder coating
A good finish is much more than meets the eye.
A bicycle’s finish isn’t just about good looks: It also protects the frame from corrosion. A good finish starts with the preparation work: First we blast the frame with steel shot to remove oil and the residues of brazin. Then we apply a rust-inhibiting primer, which protects the frame if the finish is damaged and prevents “rust creepage”.
Next the first layer of durable powder coating is applied. Then the frame is coated in the colour of your choice. Finally, we apply one last layer of powder coating, which seals and protects the finish as a clear topcoat. The powder coating products used on Patria bikes are solvent-free and environmentally friendly.
