Frame Length
The distance between the saddle and the handlebars can be varied by trying different stem lengths and/or types of handlebars. If the appropriate distance cannot be achieved using these measures then the bicycle can be ordered with a customised top tube length.
If the rider is sitting with an S-shaped spine and with his arms perpendicular to his upper body it should be possible to sit on the bicycle with slightly bent elbows and without excessive weight on the hands. If the rider’s arms are straight, possibly even with locked elbows, then there is probably too much weight on the hands. If this is the case, in spite of the fact that all of the other conditions have been met, then the back muscles may not be strong enough to support the upper body in this position.
In this case the handlebars can be raised somewhat. However, it is important that the distance between the saddle and the handlebars is not changed because, otherwise, the required 90° angle will be lost.
